Every now and then I get asked “What do you do for a living?” and after I answer the follow up questions always come without fail. What is web hosting? Why does someone need website hosting? Of course there is always the other related questions such as “Why can’t I host my own website?” and “Why should I pay for web hosting?”. Here’s a little nuance from H-Sphere that we just found out about, domain aliases now use one of the “included” domains in the users plan. We had trouble tickets come over from some new customers over the last few days who were having a problem getting all of their domain aliases assigned to a domain. Mainly due to the fact that the system wanted to charge them for these domain aliases. (…)
Many of our resellers are web designers who host their design clients under their reseller account. This tends to work great for both the client and the designer. The client doesn’t need to spend time finding a reliable hosting company to use and the designer gets to access all of the clients files to be able to better serve the client. While this works out well for both parties, is the reseller getting the most out of those design clients? I know that many of our resellers do not. (…)
