How do I register a new domain?
Registering a domain name can be done through a domain registrar. These are companies who have setup the infrastructure required and paid the fee’s to become a registered domain registrar. Many of these domain registrars also have reseller options that allow companies, like Weberz Hosting, to register domain on behalf of others as well.
It’s important to find a reputable company to register your domain with due to the control that your registrar can have over your domain. For example Weberz has seen domain resellers who have held a customer’s domain hostage, or redirected it to another site, due to a dispute they had with the person who registered it. So finding a reputable domain registrar can be extremely important. One important feature you should look for in a domain registrar is a web interface where you can manage your own domain.
Here’s a list of domain resellers and registrars that can be used to register your domain:
- Weberz Hosting – Domain web interfaces are available upon request. Weberz currently resells Enom’s domain registration services.
- Hosting Addons - A Domain reseller that uses GoDaddy for registrations.
- GoDaddy - A great domain registrar with an awesome management interface. Weberz staff preferred.
- Enom – Another domain registrar with a great reseller program for domain registrations.
- Network Solutions – One of the original domain registrars. Listed but their management interface is lacking in features and ease of use.
